Amelia Farrison, age 72, died on Monday, January 18, 2010 at J.F.K. Medical Center. She was born in Plainfield and was a lifelong resident
Mrs. Farrison was a graduate of Plainfield High School.
Prior to her retirement 8 years ago, she was a pre-school and a kindergarten teacher at Washington Elementary School in Plainfield for over 20 years.
Mrs. Farrison was a former member of St. John's Baptist Church in Scotch Plains. She enjoyed reading, taking care of kids and being a mom and sister.
She is survived by her sons, Duane Farrison of Plainfield, Dwight Farrison of Plainfield, Theodore Frederick Farrison III and his wife, Kaleia of DE, Guy Michael Farrison of Plainfield and George Farrison of Plainfield; her daughter, Bridget Farrison of New York; her brother, Robert Casey of Piscataway; her sister, Josephine Casey of Piscataway and her granddaughter, Brittney Boykin. She is also survived by many loving extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 22nd at 11:00 a.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung followed by interment at Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains. Visitation will be on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.
