Edwin A. Surowiec Beloved husband and father; loved traveling far and wide in his RV, of North Plainfield Edwin A. Surowiec, 84, died Feb. 26, 2018 at RWJ University Hospital in New Brunswick, N.J., with his family at his side. A visitation will be held at Higgins Home For Funerals in Watchung, N.J. on Saturday, March 10, from 1 to 2 p.m., followed by a 2 p.m. memorial service. Eddie was born in Scotch Plains, N.J. on Dec. 31, 1933, and resided in North Plainfield, N.J. for 57 years. He became a tool and die maker, and retired from Anheuser Busch in Newark, N.J. after 31 years as a maintenance machinist. His love of driving found him driving chauffeured vans for Country Club Services in Millburn, N.J., in his retirement. He was a scout leader in his early years. His love of adventure and travel led him to be an avid RVer, traveling with his wife throughout the U.S., Mexico, Canada and New Zealand in their beloved motorhome. When not in their motorhome, they also traveled to many world destinations via river cruises. When not traveling, Eddie wintered in Polk City, Fla. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Evelyn (Bittner); sons, Gregory and wife Elizabeth, and Gary and wife Florence, and grandchildren, Erin and Lauren. Contributions can be made to America's Vet Dogs, St. Huberts Animal Welfare, or organizations researching alzheimer's or macular degeneration.
