Kathleen Bottone

Kathleen Bottone age 58, passed away Friday, April 13, 2018, at JFK hospice in Edison after a long illness. Kathleen was born in Newark, NJ and was a lifelong resident of North Plainfield, NJ.

Kathleen graduated from North Plainfield High School and Somerset County Vocational Technical School. She was the drum major at North Plainfield High School as well as a majorette. Kathy twirled for the 1977 World Series New York Yankees at Yankees Stadium. She enjoyed sewing, her family and spending time at the Jersey shore, especially while watching sunsets.

During her career, she worked as a nurse at Runnells Hospital, a medical transcriptionist at Muhlenburg Hospital and a speech and audiologist receptionist at JFK Hospital.

Kathleen served as a Eucharistic Minister at Saint Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in North Plainfield, NJ where she was a communicant.

Kathleen is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, Angelo Bottone; her son Angelo Bottone, Jr.; her siblings, Margaret Ann Martina, Patricia Duffy, Rose Koperstynski, and Joseph Duffy. She also had ten nieces and nephews as well as seven great nieces and great nephews. She was preceeded in death by her parents, Margaret & Raymond Duffy and her brother, Raymond Duffy.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday at 4 to 8 PM at Higgins Home For Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, NJ. Funeral services will begin at 9 AM at Higgins Home For Funerals followed by a 10 AM Mass of the Resurrection at Saint Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in North Plainfield. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Scotch Plains, NJ.

She will be missed greatly by her family and many lifelong friends she had made.
