Obituary of Donald J. DeSanti

Don passed away on April 21 after a miraculous 8 year battle with pancreatic cancer. He was an unstoppable force and endured his illness with dignity and without complaint. There are so many things I could say about Don. However, I believe his true legacy is how he made us feel his love. We were blessed to share 18 years together. He helped raise my son, Brian and gave Brian and I a beautiful new family with Donnie, Michael, and Chris. Our family extends their heartfelt thanks to all of our doctors, nurses and all of the countless caregivers who touched his life. So many have commented that he was a joy to know. It is with this in mind that we suggest a memorial donation, to Dr. Joseph Herman's Pancreas Cancer research fund, be made in lieu of flowers. Johns Hopkins is a world renowned Pancreatic Cancer Center. Don's doctors are classified as Physician/Scientist as they are equally involved in research as well as treating patients. The attached link to Higgins Funeral Home provides the information on how to donate in Don's memory. Don's desire was to be laid to rest in Glacier National Park. Our four sons will fulfill that wish. In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to Don’s Doctor and our friend Dr Joseph Herman. Make check payable to: Dr Herman Pancreas Cancer Research Fund Please indicate on memo line In honor of Don DeSanti Dr Joseph Herman Johns Hopkins Department of Radiation Oncology 401North Broadway Suite 1440 Baltimore MD 21231
