Obituary of Harold Steinfeld

Manchester: Harold Steinfeld, age 85, died on Tuesday, July 21, 2015, at the Center for Hope Hospice in Scotch Plains. Born in the Bronx, he had resided in Bergenfield for many years before moving to Leisure Village West in Manchester, NJ eighteen years ago. Harold served in the United States Army for two years. Prior to retiring, Harold was a Plumber with Union Local #1, in New York City. Harold was a past member of the Bergenfield Dumont Synagogue. In his spare time he was an avid sports fan and loved watching the NY Giants, NY Rangers, Mets and Knicks. He loved to sing and act and in many local performances. Harold enjoyed paddleball, bowling, playing pool and he took up golf after retiring in which he excelled. Harold was predeceased by his loving wife Edna in July, 2014. Harold is survived by his son Steven Steinfeld of East Rutherford and his daughter Karen Gordon of Basking Ridge; as well as his two granddaughters, Stefanie and Karly Gordon. A graveside funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at 2:15 p.m. at Beth Israel Cemetery, Woodbridge. Family and friends are welcome to join the family at Karen's home in Basking Ridge immediately following the service. Shiva services will begin on Thursday at 7pm at Karen's home.
