Obituary of Thomas V. Andresen

Thomas V. Andresen, age 59, died on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 after a tragic fishing accident off the tip of Sandy Hook. Born in Brooklyn NY, Tom had resided in Rockaway, Queens, Long Island and Brooklyn before moving to Bridgewater in 1990. Prior to his retirement in 2011, Tom worked for thirty years in the construction business for the Labors Union Local 731 in NY. After his retirement in 2011, Tom fulfilled his dream of owning a commercial fishing vessel when he purchased "El Jefe". He was a very social person, always willing to help anyone. Tom enjoyed the beach and being on the water but most of all he loved spending time with his wife, two children, his two grandsons Brandon and Ryan and his beloved Chihuahuas "Scrappy" and "Scooby". He is survived by his wife of thirty seven years Barbara (Conway) Andresen; a son Corey Andresen (Maeve Kennedy); a daughter Lauren Leonard (Richie); two grandchildren Brandon and Ryan Leonard; four brothers Marty Andresen (Sue), George Andresen, Bobby Andresen (Sue) and Jimmy Andresen; a sister Peggy Califano (Ted); three brothers-in-law Steve Conway (Vicki), Kenny Conway (Jeanine) and Terry Conway(Colleen); two sisters-in-law Karen Conway (John Raines) and Sheila (George Brickfield). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family and loving friends. A memorial gathering will be held on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, NJ. In honor of Tom casual attire is acceptable. A memorial service will be held on Thursday at 11 am at the Funeral Home.
