Obituary of Henry R. Verdini

Henry R. Verdini, age 79, passed peacefully into eternal life on Thursday, October 8, 2015, at his home. Born in Elizabeth, he was the son of Enrique and Juana Verdini who predeceased him. Henry graduated from St. Peter's College in Jersey City, NJ with a BS in Chemistry. He received his MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University in Madison, NJ. He was a 1st Lieutenant in the US Army Chemical I Corps. He was employed in chemical marketing at Interchemical Corp. and industrial marketing at Roger Williams, Cities Service, and Research-Cottrell before his self-employment in market research. Henry was a member of the Somerville Elks and the American Legion Post 0012. He is survived by his wife, Claire Zilli Verdini, sister Vincenta of Elizabeth, son David and his wife Herender of Branchburg, daughter Maria, cousins in Spain and France, many loving friends and faithful Weimaraner, Gunny. A visitation will be held on Monday, October 12, 2015 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, NJ. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 13th at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Resurrection at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, West Orange, NJ. Entombment will follow at St. Gertrude's Cemetery, Colonia. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Shrine of the Blessed Sacrament, 50 W. Somerset Street, Raritan, NJ 08869.
