Obituary of Agnes K. Swanicke

Agnes K. (Kochera) Swanicke, age 92, died on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at Center for Hope Hospice in Scotch Plains. Born in Bayonne, she grew up in Roselle Park Where she graduated form Roselle Park High School. She had resided in Plainfield for 50 years before moving to Watchung in 2010. Prior to retiring Agnes worked at Van Munching Importers in New York City, she later worked as Business Manager for Kings Daughter Day Nursery in Plainfield. Agnes was a past member of St. Mary's Church in Plainfield. She was a member of the Quilting Club in Bridgewater, enjoyed reading, winters in Florida and being with her grandchildren. Predeceased by her husband Stanley in 2004, and her siblings Joseph Kochera, Anne Gralton and George Kochera. Surviving are her sons Paul and his wife Helena, Mark, Russell and his wife Jane; grandchildren Elizabeth Loonam and her husband, James, Stephanie Slater and her husband, Andrew, Michael Swanicke and his wife, Margaret, Thomas Swanicke, Steven Swanicke, Christopher Swanicke Suzanne Swanicke and Timothy Swanicke; great-grandchild James Henry Loonam; her sister Frances Boden and sister-in-law Helen Kochera. Visitation will be on Sunday, November 22th, from 2-5 p.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung. Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. on Monday November 23rd, at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Resurrection at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Mount Chapel in Warren. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains.
