Obituary of Arthur N. Hunt

Arthur Nathaniel Hunt came into this world on December 7, 1931 and went to be with his Lord on November 5, 2016. He was born on the island of Jamaica, WI and was one of three children of Charles Hunte and Estora (Aunt Essie) Hunte. There he obtained his early education through high school and started his apprenticeship and obtained his plumbing license. Arthur migrated to the United Kingdom in his early twenties where he was quickly joined by his sweetheart Joyce. They were married on February 9, 1963. After arriving in England, Arthur continued his education and became certified in wielding and pipe fitting. He worked at this craft for about nine years before migrating to the United States to join his wife and start a new and memorable life. When Arthur arrived in the US, Joyce had already done some networking and had a job interview set up for him. Two weeks after his arrival, Arthur started working in the plumbing industry for Fred Hummel Plumbing & Heating on Arlington Avenue in Plainfield. His vast knowledge amazed his employer. However, Arthur eventually walked off that job because he could not tolerate the low quality and standards of work. As Arthur became known as an excellent plumber, he was called repeatedly to do jobs or just to help someone out. What naturally followed was the startup of Arthur Hunt Plumbing & Heating, Inc. With the unwavering support and sacrifice of his wife the business thrived. Arthur Hunt Plumbing & Heating, Inc. became known throughout New Jersey as a reputable and dependable business with Master Plumber, Arthur Hunt at the helm. Arthur was also known for his calm and humble demeanor and generosity. He was a source of help to many people and donated to many charities. Arthur had a spiritual foundation from which he never departed. He privately practiced his faith and lived without fanfare. He love music and played the saxophone and guitar, often serenading the love of his live, Joyce. Arthur is survived by his wife of 53 years, Adlin (Joyce); Sons: Patrick and Mickey. Grandchildren: Patrice, Patrick Jr, Malik and Mateo. Sister Lucille Porter, Brother Burdette Hunte; Brother in law Irvin Porter and Sister in Law Cynthia Hunte. Nieces: Lorna Samuels and Marcia Burnette. Nephews: Edmond Hunte; Edwin Hunte, a host of cousins, the Christie, Fuller and Scott family members and friends.
