Obituary of Roger E. Story

Roger E. Story Roger E. Story, age 65, died peacefully on Monday, November 21, 2016 surrounded by his family at his home in Bridgewater. He was born in St. Joseph, Missouri and had lived in Bridgewater for 37 years. Mr. Story received both the National Merit Scholarship Award and the National Regents Scholarship Award when he graduated from Grand Island Senior High School in Grand Island, Nebraska. He received his Bachelors' Degree in Economics and Mathematics (Physics Minor) from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, a MA in Economics from the University of Southern California, and a MS in Operations Research and Statistics from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He was a Telecommunications Engineer with vast history in the telecommunications field at Bell Labs, AT&T and Bellcore. He most recently worked for Telcordia in Piscataway. He played clarinet and sax with the Bobby Mills Band. He helped start the Grand Island Nebraska Chamber Music group. He played with the Somerset Valley Orchestra and the Westfield Community Band. Most of all, he cherished the time spent with his loving family. Mr. Story is predeceased by his father, Johnson Story and his sister, Anita Story. He is survived by his wife, Linda M. Finne; his sons, Devon Story and Alec Story; his daughter-in-law, Amanda ; his mother, Mary Story; his sister, Carol Staples; his niece, Kate Staples and his granddaughter, Helen. A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 26th from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung. Funeral is private.
