Obituary of Louis J. Marsico

Louis J. Marsico Lakewood: Louis J. Marsico, age 88, passed away peacefully at his home in Lakewood on Tuesday, February 28, 2017. He was born and raised in Jersey City and had lived in Middlesex before moving to Lakewood 20 years ago. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Marsico received his Bachelor's Degree from St. Peter's College in Jersey City. Prior to his retirement, he was an Engineer for AT&T throughout New Jersey for over 43 years. He was an avid Yankees fan, loved music, entertaining and being with friends and family. Mr. Marsico enjoyed traveling all over the world. He was a Communicant and Eucharistic Minister of Our Lady of Mount Virgin Church and also belonged to the Knights of Columbus. Mr. Marsico is predeceased by his brother, Andrew Marsico and his sister, Phyllis Marella. Surviving are his daughters, Gwen Marsico, Geralyn Serra and Laura Mertz and her husband, Tim and his grandchildren, Ralph Serra, Gabrielle Serra and Cameron Mertz. Also surviving are several lifelong friends, cousins and many nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Sunday, March 5, 2017 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung. Funeral services will begin on Monday at 9:00 AM followed by a 10:00 AM Funeral Mass at Blessed Sacrament Church, Martinsville. Entombment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Basking Ridge.
