Obituary of Thomas John Kret

Thomas J. Kret, age 64, died on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Palmetto Richland Hospital in Columbia, South Carolina. He was born in Newark and raised in Scotch Plains and lived in Tewksbury for twenty five years before moving to Chapin, SC. He earned his Bachelor's Degree from Villanova University. Mr. Kret was a Regional Sales Manager for Honeywell. He was an avid golfer and especially loved golfing with his son. He is predeceased by his father, Edward Kret and brother, Gary Kret. Surviving are his wife, Mariann Kret; his son, Brian Kret; his mother Alverda Kret; his sisters, Susan Weaver and her husband, Richard and Linda Kmetz and her husband, Joseph and his sister-in-law, Marguerite Kret. Visitation will be on Wednesday, March, 8 2017 from 4 to 8 pm at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung. Funeral services will begin on Thursday at 9:00 am at the funeral home followed by a 10:00 am Funeral Mass at St. Joseph's Church in North Plainfield. Interment will be at Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Prostate Cancer Foundation, 1250 Fourth Street, Santa Monica, CA 90401.
