Obituary of John Shpunder, Jr.

Watchung: John Shpunder, Jr., age 74, died on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at Overlook Hospital in Summit. He was born and raised in Jersey City and graduated from Weequahic High School and had been a longtime Watchung resident. Mr. Shpunder was the owner of Premier Quality Electrical Supplies in Garwood which he started in 1998. Prior to that, he was the founder of Nationwide Refrigeration in the mid-60's. He was a member of the Watchung Fire Department Chemical Engine Company. Mr. Shpunder enjoyed vacationing in Myrtle Beach and spending time with his grandchildren. Surviving are his wife, Loretta Medwick Shpunder; his sons, John and his wife, Lisa and Theodore and his wife, Sandra; his daughter, Christina; his sisters, Olga, Mary, Anna & Vivian and his grandchildren, Ashley, Tyler, Alexis & Kayla. A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5 to 9 pm at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
