Roger C. Steinert

Roger C. Steinert of Warren Township, NJ, passed away on Friday, June 2, 2017 after battling a long illness with cancer.

Born on November 26, 1945, Roger was the son of Charles & Gladys Steinert of Staten Island, NY.  He is survived by his wife,Leslie Ann Steinert, of Warren Twp., NJ, two daughters, Melissa A. Lawson of Fogelsville, PA, Amanda  Francfort of Cary, NC, and one son, Evan Steinert of Staten Island, NY. He is also survived by two brothers, Walter Steinert of Green Pond, NJ, Robert Steinert of Toms River, NJ, and one sister, Lyn Bradley of North Branch, NJ,plus eight grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. 

Mr. Steinert attended Brooklyn Tech High School, Staten Island Community College followed by John Jay College of Police Science.   He began his career working for the city of New York  in1964 as a police officer and later as a NYC Fireman, primarily stationed on Staten Island at Ladder Company 86, working 25 years before retiring in 1995.

Roger had a lifelong passion for home improvement projects, boating, traveling and spending time with his family.  He made it a priority to live life to the fullest, appreciating the little things, helping others, and caring for his home & property.  He also lovedcanoeing and boating on rivers, canals and lakes, especially on theDelaware River, Green Pond, NJ, and Lake George, NY.  He especially loved sharing that passion with his wife, children and grandchildren. 

Arrangements are entrusted to Higgins Funeral Home in Warren, NJ, where a private viewing will be held.   Roger will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
