Obituary of Paul J. Wisiak

Paul John Wisiak, age 81, died on Tuesday June 27, 2017 at Overlook Hospital in Summit surrounded by his family. He was the son of a Hungarian immigrant who was born in 1899 and arrived in Ellis Island in 1902. Born in Elizabeth, Mr. Wisiak had resided in Union before moving to Martinsville in 2000. Mr. Wisiak proudly served in the United States Air Force in the Air National Guard during the Vietnam War. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Wisiak worked as a sheet metal worker for the Union Local 28 in New York City, NY. He was a parishioner of Blessed Sacrament Church in Martinsville and a Third Degree Knight of the Knights of Columbus, Council 4504 and an active member of the Bridgewater Senior Club. In his early years he enjoyed hunting, listening to country music and road trips with his family. He enjoyed regularly attending Catholic Mass. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandson Julien Paul. He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years Mercedita (Bonus) Wisiak, daughter Janette Wisiak and two-year old grandson Julien Paul Wisiak. A visitation will be held on Friday June 30, 2017 from 4 to 8 pm at Higgins Home for Funerals 752 Mountain Blvd. Watchung, NJ. Funeral services will begin on Saturday at 9 am at the funeral home followed by a 10 am funeral mass at Blessed Sacrament Church. The entombment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Basking Ridge.
