She was elected as the noble May Queen in the Annual May Festival – high honor in her University society. After a memorable pursuit, she married her beloved husband Sang Kyu Nam, MD on May 15, 1971. They came to the United States in June 1971 and established a vibrant life, having one son and two daughters, becoming U.S. citizens, and forming an incredible community.  Her life was exemplary in always striving to give the absolute best to her family and to everyone around her. She had a zest for life that gave her passion to constantly learn new things. She learned to paint and then opened the Hee Art Gallery in 1988 to help Korean artists in America.
