Obituary of Sherrill LaMonda

Sherrill Lynn (Vandergriff) LaMonda South Plainfield: Sherrill Lynn LaMonda, age 66 died on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at JFK Medical Center in Edison. She was born in Plainfield and has lived in South Plainfield since 1966. Mrs. LaMonda was a Human Services Specialist for the Middlesex County Board of Social Services and retired in 2013. She loved spending time with her family and her dogs, Penelope and Sophia, loved Elvis Presley and her daily lunches at Sherban's Diner in South Plainfield. She is predeceased by her parents, Joseph Vandergriff in 1986 and Jennie Vandergriff in 2017. Surviving are her husband of 45 years, Allen LaMonda; her daughter, Stacy LaMonda Nieves and her husband, Gus and her sister, Jane and her husband, Joseph. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 from 5 to 8 pm at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 3rd at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home followed by interment at Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains.
