Obituary of Josephine E McGuffin

Warren Josephine E. (Hamilton) McGuffin, age 74, died on Thursday May 29, 2003, at her home in Warren. Born in Manhattan, Mrs. McGuffin resided in Warren as a young girl. After her marriage, she moved to Plainfield, residing there for twenty years after which she returned to Warren. Mrs. McGuffin was employed for ten years by Lockheed Martin in Watchung. Previously she was employed by Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center in Plainfield as a switchboard operator and as a receptionist for ASCAP in New York City. Mrs. McGuffin was a member of the Womens Auxiliary of the VFW in Basking Ridge. She was a member of the Two Steppers, a dance group in Piscataway. She enjoyed reading, and kept herself busy visiting those who were in poor health. In addition, she was very involved with the causes of the Native American Indian. Her son, David McGuffin predeceased her in 1996. Surviving are her husband John A McGuffin. Four sons Thomas McGuffin of Upstate, NY, John E. McGuffin of Scranton, PA, and Walter McGuffin of Bradley Beach, NJ; and Robert McGuffin of Carbondale, PA; a daughter Linda Carey of Oxford; a brother James Hamilton of North Brunswick and five grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday June 3rd 2003 at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung followed by interment at Resurrection Cemetery in Piscataway.
