Obituary of Vincent Thomas Dellaperute

Vincent Thomas Dellaperute, age 78, born and raised in Plainfield before settling in the Raritan area. He was a communicant of St. Anns R.C. Church in Raritan. Prior to his retirement in 1989, Mr. Dellaperute worked as a machinist for Woodnewspaper in Plainfield for 40 years. He was a member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers. He was a trustee and member of the Association of Hunterdon Developmental Center in Clinton. Vincent was a U.S. Marine Corps Sergeant and a decorated veteran of the American and Asiatic Pacific Campaigns during World War II. He was stationed for service in the Pacific Islands and China. He received the Good Conduct Medal, W.W.II Victory Medal, American and Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal and the China Service Medal. He was a loving, caring family man who was an automobile enthusiast, avid reader who also enjoyed gardening. He is survived by his wife, JoAnn Campolattano Dellaperute; one son, Thomas Vincent Dellaperute and his wife Miriam of LA; three daughters, Janet Ressa and her husband James of Green Brook; Jean Dellaperute and Karen Dellaperute; one brother, Fred Dellaperute of Wantage; two sisters, Angelina Tomaso of Warren; Mary Kargol of South Plainfield. Grandchildren, Daniel Dellaperute, Sara and her husband Donald K. Overheim II, and Derek and Keith Ressa. Great-grandchild Kelcie Leigh Overheim. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 19th at 8:30 a.m. from the Higgins "Home For Funerals", 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. at St. Anns R.C. Church, Raritan. Cremation will be at Somerset Hills Memorial Park, Basking Ridge. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his memory to Association for Hunterdon Developmental Center, c/o Hunterdon Developmental Center, P.O.
