Obituary of Vincent DeFina

Warren - Vincent DeFina , age 77, died Wednesday, August 6, 2003 at his daughters home in Warren. Born in Manhattan, he was a longtime resident of Brooklyn, moving to Staten Island in 1984. In February of this year, he moved to Warren. Prior to retiring 15 years ago, he was employed for 35 years as a postal employee at the U.S. Post Office in Brooklyn. Mr. DeFina served in the US Navy during WWII. He was a member of the Knights of Colombus in Brooklyn. His wife Concetta Mancuso DeFina predeceased him in 1997. Surviving are a daughter, Rosemarie and her husband Patrick Cangiano of Warren, two sisters, Angie Barbaccia of Manhattan, NY and Lucy of Staten Island, NY. Also surviving are 4 grandsons, Patrick Cangiano and his wife Samantha, Peter, Christopher and Vincent Cangiano. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2003 at 9:30 am from the Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, followed by a 10:00 AM funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Mount R.C. Church in Warren and interment at Cemetery of the Resurrection in Staten Island. Visitation Friday 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
