Obituary of Vincent Rocco “Rocky” Tropeano

Vincent Rocco Rocky Tropeano, age 47, died on Tuesday September 2, 2003 at Overlook Hospital in Summit. Born in Elizabeth, he had resided in Union before moving to the Bridgewater area eleven years ago. He was the owner of Sarinos Auto Body Shop, Inc. in Roselle Park. Mr. Tropeano was a graduate of Seton Hall University majoring in marketing, earning his Bachelors of Science Degree in 1978. He had played soccer at Seton Hall and was an active board member of the Bridgewater Soccer Association for many years. He was also a member of the Fathers Club at St. Josephs High School in Metuchen and the Knights of Columbus- Our Lady of the Hills, Council Number 5959 of Martinsville. He was an avid motorcycle fan who loved his Harley Davidson and enjoyed landscaping in his spare time. Mr. Tropeano is survived by his wife Susan Dillon Tropeano; two sons Ross and Mark Tropeano of Martinsville; a daughter Kristen Tropeano of Martinsville; his parents Sarino and Fay Tropeano of Scotch Plains; two brothers Sarino and his wife Kathy Tropeano of Westfield, and Leo and his wife Karin Tropeano of Flemington; a sister Melisa and her husband Dave Latour of Hoboken. He is also survived by two brother-in-laws Rich and his wife Debbie Dillon of Lakeside MT, and Bob and his wife Nina Dillon of Flagler Beach FL. Funeral Services will be held at 9:15 am on Friday September 5, 2003 at Higgins Home for Funerals 752 Mountain Blvd. Watchung NJ, 07069 followed by a 10:00 am Funeral Mass at Blessed Sacrament R.C. Church in Martinsville. A committal service will follow at Somerset Hills Memorial Park, Basking Ridge with Pastor Brennan officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The Rocky Tropeano Memorial Fund has been establablished so that his friends and family members may contribute toward the cost of educating his three children, Kristen, Ross and Mark.
