My heartfelt condolences go out to Carol and Gary, Ron and Glenn, and all the family. As next door neighbors to the Prieces, and great friend of Carol’s since we were very young, I have cherished memories of Mrs. Priece! She was always kind to me, even as Carol and I went about our mad adventures. I still make the dense and wonderful carrot cake that I first swooned over in her home, a family recipe. I ate my first Polish sausage at her house, and wondered at what I’d been missing! She set a strong example of true work ethic and the importance of family. I remember her gentle ways and lovely smile very vividly. One time Mom was at work and Dad’s right foot was impaled by a clothes hanger that was in the grass while he was mowing! We were all too young to be of help. Mrs. Priece dropped everything and came to our aid with grace, something never forgotten.
