Warren Raymond

Warren Raymond, 85, of Berkeley Heights  passed peacefully on Monday November 18, 2019. Born January 17, 1934 in Manhattan, N.Y. to Jerome and Gladys Raymond. He was a Class of 1952 graduate of Trenton Central High School. He was married twice, most recently to Barbara (Roth) Raymond, whom he married in April of 1983. 

Warren started his professional career in radio in Lancaster, Pa., later working numerous stations around the greater Trenton area. His love of music was evident from an early age, having been blessed with a rich, resonant voice. He was known for singing along the artists on the songs he played on the radio.He later left radio and moved into newpaper advertising at The Trentonian, and then The Trenton Times, from which he retired after more than 20 years of service. 

While Warren enjoy taking ocean cruises, nothing compared to his love of music. A soloist throughout high school, he was often called upon to sing at weddings and for the holidays. He later took his talents to the stage where he was a featured performer in numerous productions at the Open Air Theater at Washington Crossing State Park. Warren's stage passion lead him to presidency of both The Pennington Players and later, The Princeton Opera Association leading both groups in staging productions and ensuring quality performances. 

Pre-desceaed by his parents, Jerome and Gladys Raymond, and his daughter, Erica Raymond Scanlon, he is survived by his wife of 36 years, Barbara Roth Raymond, a son and daughter-in-law, Garth and Deane (Dee) Raymond, his sister and brother-in-law, Peter and Joyce Raymond Ungar, grandchildren Steven and Rebecca Raymond Weinhofer, Jeremy Raymond, and Jessica Scanlon, as well as two great-grandchildren, Zachary and Breanna Weinhofer, and a niece, Jay and Eileen Holly Zeltt. 

It was his final request to be cremated and inurned privately during a memorial service to be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Warren's name can be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, which he was a strong advocate and believer in.
