Gordon F. Swenarton, age 83, died on Sunday, November 8, 2020, at Morristown Medical Center in Morristown, NJ. He was born in Orange, NJ, raised in Maplewood, NJ, until joining the Army in 1956. After completing his military service, he attended the Newark School of Fine & Industrial Art. Mr. Swenarton was employed at Aron & Falcone Associates in Chatham, New Jersey as a Senior Artist for 35 years. Upon retirement, he continued to work as a freelance artist. He was internationally recognized as an exceptionally talented three-dimensional artist. He received multiple awards, and his work is represented in many private collections along with the Folk Art Museum in New York. Mr. Swenarton is predeceased by his parents, Edwin Swenarton and Dorothy (Thorpe) Swenarton; his brother, James Swenarton; and his grandson, William Swenarton. Mr. Swenarton is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Mary Jane Swenarton; his daughters, Nancy Jane Haws and Anne Elizabeth Swenarton; his beloved grandchildren, Taylor Haws, Dylan Haws, Cody Haws; and his great-grandson, Nikolas William Swenarton. The cremation was private.
