Dr. Kevin Michael Morris

Dr. Kevin Michael Morris, age 70, passed away on Monday, September 27, 2021. He was born in Staten Island, NY on November 9th, 1950 to Charles Vernon and Rose Morris and lived there for 22 years. He also resided in Padova, Italy during the 70s, Millburn, NJ, and most recently, Watchung, NJ since 2004.

Graduating from Curtis High School, Staten Island, NY in 1967, Dr. Kevin then continued his studies at Wagner College, Staten Island, NY and graduated in 1972 with a  Bachelor of Science in Bacteriology. In 1979, he completed his medical studies and received his medical degree at the prestigious University of Padova, The School of Science and Surgery, located in Padova, Italy.

For the past 35 years, Dr. Kevin worked as an Attending Anesthesiologist at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center. In 1983, he also worked for St. Mary’s Hospital, Orange, NJ as an Emergency Physician and he also worked as a Surgical House Physician in East Orange General Hospital as well.

He was a member of various organizations, including the American Medical Association, the Essex County / NJ Medical Society, and the NJ State Society of Anesthesiology.

Dr. Kevin also greatly enjoyed teaching others and was part of many cardiac teaching groups since the 1990s.

He had a passion for photography and automobiles, and loved discovering new restaurants and sharing his favorites with everyone. He also loved to visit friends in Italy, Greece, and Paris.

Dr. Kevin was known mostly for being thoughtful, extremely generous to a fault, and always caring for all those around him was his greatest hobby of all.

He is survived by his loving wife, Joan Bertuccelli Tak; his 3 step-children: Nicole Tak Rhinehart and her husband, Tim, Samantha Tak, and Josef Tak; and one step-grandchild: Dax Rhinehart.

Memorial donations may be made in his memory to the American Heart Association, the RWJBH Cardiac Education and Research Fund, and the Glaucoma Foundation.

A visitation will be held on Friday, October 1, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, NJ. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Mount R.C. Chapel, 167 Mount Bethel Road, Warren, NJ.
