Obituary of Joseph Savoly

Joseph Savoly, 87, died on Thursday, October 13, 2005 at his home in Warren. He was born in Hungary, came to the US in 1957 and lived in Newark until he moved to Warren 40 years ago. Mr. Savoly served as a Sergeant in the Hungarian Army. He was a former member of Our Lady of the Mount Church. Prior to his retirement in 1982, Mr. Savoly was a Tool & Dye Maker for 25 years for the Amax Corporation in Newark. He is predeceased by his wife, Rose Farkas Savoly in 1987. Surviving him are his sons, Arpad Savoly and his wife, Diane of Bridgewater and Joseph Savoly and his wife Claire of Warren and his sister, Ilona Jo of Hungary. Also surviving are his 4 grandchildren, Joseph Savoly, Diana Savoly, Kristina Savoly and Alicia Savoly. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 16th at 8:30 pm at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd. Watchung. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm and on Tuesday from 1 to 1:30 pm at the funeral home followed by a 2 pm chapel service at Somerset Hills Memorial Park, Basking Ridge.
