Obituary of Robert L. Pratscher
Robert L. Pratscher passed away on April 7th, 2021, at age 75. Born in Metuchen, NJ, he was the son of Philip N. Pratscher and Marie Bruno Pratscher.
He grew up in Scotch Plains, NJ. He moved to Greenbrook, NJ, in 1973, Martinsville NJ, in 1978 and recently settled in Readington, NJ, to enjoy retirement with his wife, Carol.
Bob served his country in the United States Navy from 1965-1971. Following his honorable discharge from active service, he then joined the family business, Stanley’s Florist and Plants, which was located on Front Street in Plainfield, NJ, for over 50 years. Bob later took over and expanded the business to include several retail flowershops, various 800 phone lines, and numerous successful online websites which achieved national recognition.
Bob was honored by both Teleflora and FTD for his outstanding contributions to the floral industry as one of the Top 100 and Top 50 floral operations in the country for many years.
Bob’s passions were being at his vacation home on Hatteras Island, fishing in the Outer Banks, and traveling the world with his loving wife of 49 years, Carol.
An avid classic car and watch collector, bike rider, health hiker, and pool player, Bob also enjoyed spending quality downtime with his family and friends.
He was predeceased by a nephew, Lee Silvoski.
Surviving are his wife, Carol Rawson Pratscher; three children, Maria Andrews and her husband Robert of Milford, NJ, Anna Albano and her husband Phillip of Whitehouse Station, NJ, and Olivia Byron and her husband Paul of Kingston, RI; 4 grandchildren, Joshua Andrews, Private Zachary Andrews, Vincenzo Albano, and Shalene Byron, as well as a sister, Betty Goula of Bayville, NJ.
A Visitation will be held on Friday, April 23rd, 2021 from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Higgins Funeral Home, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, NJ.
A Private Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 24th, 2021, for immediate family only.
