Obituary of Delores Ann Hay
Delores Ann Hay, a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2024, at the age of 80. Born in Plainfield, New Jersey, on July 18, 1944, to Kermit Baer and Rose Kattner Baer, Delores spent her early years in South Plainfield before making her home in North Plainfield, where she lived for the past 15 years.
A graduate of South Plainfield High School, Delores built a career dedicated to hard work and community, spending 15 years as a deli clerk at A&P in Basking Ridge, where she was known for her warm smile and kind spirit. Though she took pride in her work, her greatest joy in life was the love and time she shared with her family. She cherished every moment spent with her beloved daughter, Patricia Baer, her granddaughter, Aleah Sims, and her great-granddaughter, Annaleasha Sims. They were the light of her life, and she found true happiness in their laughter, milestones, and simple everyday moments together.
Delores had a creative soul and a love for arts and crafts, often spending hours making heartfelt creations for her loved ones. Whether it was a handmade piece for her family or simply a project to brighten her home, she poured her heart into every detail. Her kindness, patience, and artistic spirit will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion, survived by her daughter, Patricia Baer of Whitehall, PA; her grandchildren, Aleah Sims, Dominick Raiti, Christopher Baer, and Corie Baer; and her great-granddaughter, Annaleasha Sims.
Delores touched the lives of many with her kindness, unwavering love for her family, and creative spirit. Though she is no longer with us, her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Currently, there are no public funeral services scheduled. A memorial will be held in her memory at a future later date.
