Maria was born in Ambato, Ecuador, where she spent her early years and built the foundation of a life rooted in love, faith, and family. In 2001, she made the courageous decision to leave her homeland and settle in North Plainfield, New Jersey, to be closer to her family. Maria embraced her new home while keeping her Ecuadorian heritage close to her heart, passing down traditions, values, and an unwavering sense of family unity to the generations that followed.
For over ten years, Maria worked for the Andersen Window Company in North Brunswick. She was a dedicated and hardworking employee, known for her reliability, commitment, and strong work ethic. She took pride in her work and in being a valuable part of her team before retiring to focus on what she loved most—spending time with her family.
A deeply spiritual and devout Catholic, Maria’s faith was at the center of her life. She was a dedicated parishioner of Saint Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church in North Plainfield, where she attended Mass every Sunday without fail. Beyond her spirituality, Maria had a passion for music and dancing. She found joy in movement and rhythm, often filling her home with music and laughter. She was also an exceptional cook, known for her delicious meals that brought family and friends together around the table. Her kitchen was a place of warmth and love, where generations gathered to share food, stories, and cherished memories.
The heart of Maria’s world was her family. As the matriarch of a large and loving family, she devoted herself to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. With eight children, over twenty-two grandchildren, and a growing number of great-grandchildren, she found the greatest fulfillment in their presence, offering unwavering support, guidance, and love.
