Frank Kazmierski

Obituary of Frank S. Kazmierski

Frank S. Kazmierski, a devoted husband, loving father, proud veteran, and dedicated Catholic, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at Sunrise Assisted Living in Basking Ridge, surrounded by his loving family. He was 95 years old.

Born on August 1, 1929, in Dickson City, Pennsylvania, Frank was the son of the late Joseph and Sophie Kazmierski. He spent his early years in Dickson City before moving to North Plainfield, New Jersey, where he and his beloved wife, Zena, built a home and raised their family. Frank was a dedicated worker, spending over 20 years at General Motors in Clark as a tool grinder before transitioning into medical transport, where he remained until his retirement.

A true patriot, Frank was a U.S. Army veteran, proudly serving two tours for a total of four years—first at the end of World War II, stationed in Austria and Germany, and later during the Korean Conflict, where he once again served in Austria. He took great pride in his military service, carrying his deep love for his country throughout his life. He remained actively involved in the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), being a lifelong member of his Throop Pennsylvania VFW as well as a member of the national Veterans of Foreign Wars Association in Kansas City, Missouri.

Frank’s faith was central to his life. He was a devoted and long-standing member of St. Stanislaus Kostka Roman Catholic Church in Plainfield, where he volunteered extensively, serving as the church sexton. His commitment to his church and community was unwavering, and he found great fulfillment in giving his time and talents to support the parish.

In his free time, Frank enjoyed word games, baseball, and football, though he was more of a casual fan. However, his greatest joy in life was his family. Nothing made him happier than spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, hearing about their accomplishments, and watching his family grow. He was immensely proud of the legacy of love and family that he and Zena built together over the course of 70 years of marriage.

Frank is survived by his beloved wife, Zena, and their four children: Mary Love, Donna Donnelly (Terry Donnelly), Linda Hadley, Frank Kazmierski, Jr.,(Kim); He was the cherished grandfather of six: Ryan Donnelly (Joleen Donnelly), Jeff Donnelly (Amanda Savino), Jenna FitzGerald (Liam FitzGerald), Jonathan Loree (Katie McCarther), Brandon Loree (Lucy Loree), Christian Loree (Kayla Loree). He was also blessed with nine great-grandchildren: Brennan, Winston, Declan, Killian, Hadley, Bonnie, Sophia, Emma, and Bella, as well as many loving nieces and nephews.

Frank was predeceased by his two beloved sons-in-law, Thomas Patrick Love and Bruce Hadley, whose passing affected him deeply.
