Obituary of Siu Mui Wong
Siu Mui Wong passed away peacefully on March 12, 2025, at her home in Warren, New Jersey, with her devoted husband, John, by her side, holding her and singing their favorite song, Skyway, into her ear. She was a woman of extraordinary grace, quiet strength, and boundless love—an unwavering pillar of support for those she cherished.
Born on May 20, 1968, in Hong Kong, Siu spent her early years there before moving to Manhattan at 8 years old, where she grew up and built the foundation of a remarkable life. In 1992, at a company party in Spring Lake, New Jersey, she met the love of her life, John Weimer and was later married on September 29th, 1996. Their journey together led them to North Plainfield, later moving to Dunellen before settling into Warren in 2001, where they shared many beautiful years together.
A woman of sharp intellect and natural brilliance, Siu earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration from SUNY Buffalo. Her keen financial mind and analytical acumen made her an invaluable asset in every company she worked for. Most recently, she served as Comptroller and Vice President of Finance at IOHK USA LLC, a crypto technology firm in Colorado. Her leadership, mentorship, and relentless work ethic left an indelible mark on her colleagues and the organizations she helped shape. Despite her professional success, Siu remained humble, never seeking recognition for her achievements.
Beyond her career, Siu embraced life with curiosity and passion. She and John shared a love for travel, with Portugal holding a special place in their hearts as their envisioned future home. A true foodie, she delighted in discovering new restaurants, savoring diverse cuisines, and pairing each meal with the perfect wine. But above all, Siu’s greatest gift was her quiet, selfless devotion to others. Whether listening intently to an elder’s stories or offering a reassuring presence, she had an innate ability to make those around her feel seen, heard, and deeply valued.
Siu is survived by her beloved husband, John Weimer; her loving father, Yung Wai Wong; and her siblings, Kam Tai Wong-Leung, Siu Ling Wong, Siu "Helen" Wah Wong, Kwok Kei Wong, and Siu Hung Wong. She is also mourned by extended family, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends whose lives she touched with her kindness, wisdom, and quiet strength.
At Siu’s request, funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks for donations in her memory to the Lung Cancer Research Foundation, honoring her generous spirit and compassion for others.
Siu Mui Wong’s time on this earth was far too brief, but her legacy of love, dignity, and resilience will forever live in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her.
