Obituary of Antoni Urda

July 15, 1942 – March 23, 2025

Antoni Urda, 82, of Elizabeth, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 23, 2025, at Trinitas Hospital in Elizabeth.

Born on July 15, 1942, in Villach, Germany, Antoni spent his early years in Poland before residing in Austria and eventually immigrating to the United States in 1999. He settled in New Jersey, where he lived out the remainder of his life.

A dedicated and hardworking man, Antoni was employed as a baker at Stas Bakery in Linden, New Jersey, from 2000 to 2004. He had a high school education in bakery studies and took great pride in his craft.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Antoni and Zofia Urda, and his brother, John Urda.

Antoni was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Paraskiewia Urda, with whom he shared many cherished years. He was a loving father to Andrzej Urda and his wife Aneta, Marek Urda and his wife Alicja, and Ewa Urda. He was also a proud grandfather to Adrianna, Kevin, Dawid, and Klaudia, and a great-grandfather to Sandra and Sebastian.

He is also survived by his siblings, Stefan Urda, Michał Urda, and Maria Hnatyszak.

Antoni was a faithful Catholic and found joy in simple pleasures. He especially enjoyed fishing and watching soccer.

An interment will be held at St. Mary’s Stony Hill Cemetery in Watchung, New Jersey.

He will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him.
