Fenglin Xu, 86, of Warren, New Jersey, passed away peacefully at home on April 12, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Shen Yang and raised in Tianjin, China, Fenglin earned a bachelor’s degree and worked as a civil engineer with the Tianjin Steel Mill. He immigrated to the United States in 2001 and resided in Basking Ridge, NJ, for ten years before settling in Warren, NJ, where he has lived for the past two and a half years.

Fenglin was a devoted husband to Shouqi Liu and a proud father to Zhuoying Xu (husband Jun Yan) and Xiaoling Xu (husband Chengjun Deng). He was also a cherished grandfather to Leo Yan, Jason Yan, and David Deng. He is survived by his siblings Fengqin Xu, Fendru Xu, and Fengrui Xu.

Fenglin enjoyed travel, photography, swimming, and reading history books and poems in his free time. He was especially fond of outdoor walks.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, NJ. Cremation services will be private.
