Fred Moseley

Fred Moseley was born on December 29, 1943 to the late Marion Moseley and Leona Livingston in Brooklyn, New York. He transitioned from labor to reward on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 after a brief illness.
Fred was educated at Franklin K. Lane High School and went on to lead a life characterized by dedication to his family, community, and career. He proudly served in several capacities throughout his professional life, including work at the U.S. Postal Service as a Mail Handler, in a law firm mailroom, and ultimately at U.S. Customs in Bayonne, NJ as a Treasury Inspector, where he retired in 2001.
Fred was blessed to marry the love of his life Barbara Ellis in 1970. They spent 52 years together, where they enjoyed life until her passing in 2022. Fred spent 39 meaningful years of his life living in Brooklyn, New York. In 1983, he moved his family to Plainfield, New Jersey, where he resided for the past 42 years and became a beloved member of the community.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Fred was a man of many passions. He was an avid basketball player and baseball coach, and enjoyed shopping, traveling on cruises with his wife, and was a proud Knicks enthusiast.
His warm heart, enduring work ethic, and spirited love for family and sports will be remembered by all who knew and loved him.
Fred was preceded in death by wife Barbara Ellis Moseley and his parents.
Fred leaves not to mourn but to cherish fond memories three sons: Frederick Moseley and his wife Danielle, Karim Moseley and his former wife Tracee Nerette-Moseley, and Lamont Moseley; his sister, Annie Aldridge; and five cherished grandchildren: Marquise Moseley, Quiera Moseley, Sydney Moseley, Taliyah Moseley, and Ty’Anna Moseley
