Veronica Flood Obituary

Veronica (Honey) Flood was born March 25, 1929, to her beloved parents, William and Catherine Kadaraitis, entered into eternal rest on June 18, 2025, at her daughter’s home in Warren, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born in Newark and lived a short time in Carteret before moving to Watchung in 1959 in the home her and her beloved husband, Paul, built.


Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her one true love, her husband, Paul, whom she married in Saint James R. C. Church in Newark on May 10, 1952; her two daughters, Karen in 1959 and Elaine in 1960; her three sons, Bruce in 1991, Wayne in 2002, and Glenn in 2020; her brother, William (Chick) Kadaraitis, and sister-in-law, Patricia Kadaraitis; her son-in-law, David Goodling, in 2018; and many aunts and uncles she adored.


She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen Goodling, and her daughter-in-law, Cynthia Flood.


Veronica (Grandma Honey) was blessed with nine grandchildren, Stacy, Amy, Jade, Nicole, Brenden, Jordan, Jackee, Glenn, and Hunter, and 21 great-grandchildren, as well as many precious nieces, nephews, and cousins she was blessed with.


Veronica was a graduate of Saint James High School in Newark and the Professional School of Business. She was employed by Church and Company in Newark as a bookkeeper. She was a real estate broker with CrestviewRealty in Scotch Plains and retired from the Quality Control Department at Unisys Corp. in Flemington. Veronica will be laid to rest with her beloved husband, Paul; her daughters, Karen and Elaine; her two sons, Bruce and Wayne; her parents; grandparents; and aunts and uncles in the family plot at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover.


She will be remembered for the love, fun, and joy she brought to her family every holiday, special occasion, and every day! She always thought of others first.


A visitation will be held on Monday, June 23, from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at Higgins Home For Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, followed by a 10 a.m. Mass at St. Mary’s Stony Hill Church, 225 Mountain Blvd., Watchung. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover, New Jersey.
