Aris was a loving and compassionate man. He spent his life being the kindest soul to everyone he met. He loved unconditionally.
Aris spent the last years of his short life married to Natalie Ruiz-Detorres and her five children Michael, Nicholas, Alexander, Viktoriya, and the youngest he affectionately called his second wife Veronika. He was a devoted, wonderful, bonus dad to all five of these children. He poured every ounce of good he had into them.
Not only did Aris devote his life to his family, he also devoted it to helping others. He spent the last 8 years working to achieve his mental health license so that he can continue to help others in need. He took this role very seriously, and he was extremely supportive and devoted to his clients. Always going the extra mile for them even when his job title didn’t ask him to. On top of that he also did plumbing, a trade he fell into at a very young age. Not only did Aris fall into plumbing at a young age, but this was his bonding time with his younger brother Andrew Detorres. They often went on plumbing jobs together and where considered the dream team together. And he would very often go out of his way to fix something for someone with zero charge. Because Aris loved to help. His soul was destined to be in service of others and to love every human and creature that walked the earth. With that being said, Aris had a passion for being outside. This passion came from a special bond he shared with his loving mother Pamala Paley. When opportunity arose for them to go outside and go on a hike they would make it a point to go all day and share in the experience and the bond that came from this.
Aris was well known for being the animal whisperer . Aris, loved animals so much he rescued his best friend, his beloved Oak. Who we lovingly call Oakley. Oak has been his best friend thru thick and thin for over six years . And Aris cherished this creature more than anything. He never met an animal he didn’t love. He loved all critters big and small. A true testament to his kind soul.
Not only did Aris take pride in his counseling, but he also took pride in the camaraderie and support he received by going to AA. This was a huge part of Aris’s life and it helped define a good part of the man so many people loved. He was always there for another human that was struggling, he always supported and valued the men and women he would meet in his meetings, this was a part of Aris.
Aris was a loving son, brother, nephew, and uncle to his large extended family. Being an uncle to his two nieces Logan and Avery DeTorres was something so special to Aris. They were truly a light in his life. He took great pride in being there for them in the good times and bad.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Natalie Ruiz-DeTorres; his five cherished stepchildren, Michael, Nicholas, Alexander, Viktoriya, and Veronika; his parents, Pamela B. Paley and Aristide C. Detorres; his devoted brother, Andrew DeTorres and his wife Jaymie, his two nieces, Avery and Logan, his grandmother, Rose DeTorres and many cousins.
