Obituary for John Szoke

John Szoke, a longtime resident of Warren, NJ, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2025, at Overlook Hospital after a brief illness.

Born in New Jersey to the late John and Ann Szoke, John led a private life guided by integrity, discipline, and a deep sense of responsibility. A proud graduate of Watchung Hills Regional High School, he would go on to earn his bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University in New Brunswick. John had a long and respected career with Bell Atlantic and other Baby Bell companies. Following his retirement, he remained active and engaged through private investments—a field in which he was not only highly knowledgeable but also quite successful.

Though reserved by nature, John cared deeply for those closest to him. He shared a special bond with his late mother, whom he welcomed into his home and cared for until her passing in 1992. His quiet strength and unwavering dedication to family marked the foundation of his life.

John’s funeral services are private. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to a charity of your choice.

He leaves behind no surviving relatives but will be remembered with respect and appreciation by those who knew him.
