Nancy Yorlano Obituary

Nancy (Bosco) Yorlano, 77, passed away at her home in South Plainfield, New Jersey, on Friday, August 1, 2025.

Born in Brooklyn and raised in Queens, Nancy graduated from Grover Cleveland High School and made South Plainfield her home beginning in 1972. She was a longtime communicant of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, where her faith was a quiet but steady part of her life.

Nancy’s family often described her as “New York tough,” a reflection of the unwavering strength and loyalty she showed to those she loved. She loved with her whole heart—deeply, fiercely, and without hesitation. If you were family, or if you were in her life, you always knew where you stood with her—and just how much you meant to her.

She took great joy in playing bingo, watching the New York Mets, and preparing meals for her family. Thanksgiving was her favorite time of year, not just for the cooking, but for the joy of gathering everyone back home. Her meals were delicious, but it was the love behind them that made them unforgettable. Family meant everything to her, and no one held a more special place in her heart than her beloved grandson, John.

Nancy was predeceased by her loving husband, John Clemente Yorlano, in 1990, and by her three brothers, Joseph, Robert, and Richard Bosco.

She is survived by her devoted daughter, Nancy Yorlano and her husband Martin Naughton, and her loving son, Joseph Yorlano and his wife Alyson. She will be forever missed by her grandson, John Anthony Yorlano, who was the light of her life.

Nancy is also survived by her brother-in-law Joe and his wife Cathy; her sister-in-law Mary Ann Hager and her husband Charles; and her sister-in-law Kathy Bosco. She leaves behind her nieces, Ann Marie and Mary Grace and her husband Stephen, and her nephew, Christopher and his wife Alyssa, along with extended family and friends who will remember her for her strength, her warmth, and the love she gave so freely.

Nancy’s memory will live on in every holiday meal, every Mets game watched with passion, and every moment her family draws strength from her example.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at 12:00 PM at Holy Redeemer Cemetery in South Plainfield, New Jersey.

Memorial donations may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children.
