Irene F. Priece, 95, of Bridgewater, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2025, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Somerset, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Newark on April 2, 1930, to the late Charles and Gertrude Oppel, Irene grew up in Newark before settling in Berkeley Heights, where she and her husband built their home and raised their family. She became deeply rooted in the community and remained there for many years before recently moving to Bridgewater.

Irene was a dedicated and meticulous employee of AIM Manufacturing Company in Berkeley Heights, where she worked in quality control as an inspector for 19 years before retiring. Known for her kind heart and thoughtful nature, Irene will be remembered as a good person in every sense of the word—organized, caring, and always putting her family first.

She found great joy in gardening and cooking, and she especially loved sweets. Family and friends often joked that the way to Irene’s heart was through a box of candy. She was also a devoted New York Yankees fan, a passion she proudly shared with her sisters.

Irene is survived by her three loving children, Carolyn Harris and her husband Gary, Ronald Priece and his wife Mary, and Glenn Priece. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Siegmund Priece, who passed away on January 4, 1998, and by her daughter-in-law, Kimberly Priece.

She will be dearly missed by her seven cherished grandchildren: Christopher Harris, Kimberly Robinson, Daniel Priece and his wife Abby, Andrew Priece and his wife Emily, Nicole Priece, Tyler Priece and his fiancée Kelley, and Dalton Priece; as well as her adored great-grandchildren Owen, Wyatt, Bennett, Tatum, Noah, Anthrun Andrew & Deneve Lea.

Irene was one of eight siblings—Gertrude, Charles(Carl), Herbert, Mildred, Evelyn, Frederick and Elfrieda—and is also survived by many extended family members and loving friends who will forever hold her memory close.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 31, 2025, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Boulevard, Watchung, New Jersey, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will take place immediately afterward at Somerset Hills Memorial Park in Basking Ridge.
