Raymond Hyman passed away peacefully on October 30, 2025, at Overlook Hospital in Summit, New Jersey, surrounded by his wife and loving family.
Born on December 3, 1955, at his family home in Blackstock, South Carolina. During his early childhood, his family relocated to Brooklyn, New York, where he grew up and built many lifelong friendships. For the past several decades, Raymond made his home in North Plainfield, New Jersey, where he shared a life filled with love, laughter, and devotion alongside his beloved wife, Lucille Hyman.
Raymond earned his bachelor’s degree from Beloit College in Beloit, Wisconsin, in 1976. Known for his strong work ethic and steady leadership, he was a dedicated employee of Thermoplastics Processes in Stirling, New Jersey, where he worked as a supervisor for 15 years prior to his retirement.
A man of quiet joys and simple pleasures, Raymond found contentment in life’s everyday moments. Whether taking peaceful walks, driving to nearby parks, reading the New York Post (his favorite newspaper), or relaxing while watching television, he appreciated the small things that made each day meaningful. He also enjoyed the occasional thrill of playing the lottery, ever hopeful for a lucky number or two.
Raymond will be remembered for his kind spirit, gentle humor, and steadfast love for his family and friends. His presence brought warmth to every gathering, and his memory will continue to bring comfort to those who knew and loved him.
He was predeceased by his sibings, Bobby Jones Jr., Jack Hyman, and Robin Hyman.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lucille Hyman; his son Raymond Hyman II.; his devoted siblings, Diana Rahmaan, Thomas Hyman, and Dennis Jones; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will cherish his memory.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Shrine of Saint Joseph, located at 1050 Long Hill Road, Stirling, New Jersey. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:30 a.m. at the Shrine. Interment will take place immediately afterward at St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery in Stirling, New Jersey.
