Patricia Ann Cox Obituary
Patricia Ann Cox, 89, of Basking Ridge, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 22, 2025, at Fellowship Village in Basking Ridge.
Patricia was born in Manhattan, New York, and was raised in Moorestown, New Jersey. Over the course of her life, she made her home in several communities, including Levittown, New Jersey, and Weston, Massachusetts, before settling in Basking Ridge in 1972, where she remained for more than five decades.
After graduating from high school, Patricia began working for RCA in Moorestown, New Jersey. It was there that she met the love of her life, Arthur L. Cox. The two married and started a family, and Patricia devoted herself wholeheartedly to what she considered her most important role, caring for her family and creating a loving home.
Arthur’s career afforded the opportunity for extensive travel, and Patricia embraced those experiences with joy and curiosity. Together, they traveled to many remarkable destinations, including Great Britain, France, Germany, Japan, and many other places, building cherished memories along the way.
Patricia was deeply committed to serving others. She volunteered her time with Meals on Wheels in Basking Ridge and with the Bonafides of Somerset Hills, also in Basking Ridge. Known for her warmth and generosity, she was especially remembered as a wonderful cook and baker, delighting family and friends with her cookies and holiday treats.
She was predeceased earlier this year by her beloved husband, Arthur L. Cox.
Patricia is survived by her children: Jill Havrilla and her husband Jim, Stephen Cox and his wife Beth, and Bill Cox and his wife Linda. She is also survived by her brother Robert Burns, ten cherished grandchildren: Arthur Havrilla, Peter Havrilla, Andrew Havrilla, Amanda Cox, Katie Cox, Sarah Cox, Will Cox, Stephen Cox, Christopher Cox, and Michael Cox, as well as her great-grandchild, Cody Cox.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Higgins Home For Funerals, 752 Mountain Boulevard, Watchung, New Jersey, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Westfield, New Jersey.
Patricia will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her spirit of service, her love of travel, and the warmth she brought into every home she touched.
