Andrew Fresco Obituary

Andrew Fresco, age 84, passed away peacefully on January 19, 2026, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset in Somerville, New Jersey.

Andrew was born on April 3, 1941, in Newark, New Jersey, to Angelina and Andrew Fresco. He was raised in Newark, where he spent his early years later residing for a time in Colonia, New Jersey. Since 1978, Bridgewater, New Jersey had been his home, where he built a life rooted in family, faith, and hard work.

Andrew was a graduate of Essex County Vocational Technical School. Shortly after completing his education, he entered the workforce and began what would become a long and dedicated career in the printing industry. He started at Lasky Printing as a courier, learning the business from the ground up. Through commitment, reliability, and an exceptional work ethic, he advanced steadily through the company, ultimately earning the position of Vice President of Quality Control. Andrew remained devoted to his craft and later continued his career at Globe Die Cutting Products in Metuchen, New Jersey, where he applied the same pride, precision, and leadership that defined his professional life. He was deeply respected by colleagues and took great satisfaction in honest work well done.

Faith played a central role throughout Andrew’s life. It was at a church dance, when Andrew was 18 and Carole was 16, that he first met the woman who would later become his wife. What followed was a lasting love that led to marriage of 62 years and the raising of a family. Andrew and his wife were devoted parishioners of Blessed Sacrament Church in Martinsville for forty-six years, where their faith remained a constant source of guidance, community, and comfort.

In his retirement years,  Andrew found joy in many pursuits. He enjoyed golfing, gardening, baking, saltwater fishing, and woodworking, hobbies that reflected both his patience and his appreciation for working with his hands. He was a proud member of the Sons and Daughters of Italy and cherished time spent traveling, especially trips to Italy, where he felt a strong connection to his heritage. Andrew also loved simple pleasures, such as enjoying the Jersey Shore, reading the newspaper comics and books (mysteries), and gathering with family for celebrations and holidays.

Above all else, Andrew’s greatest joy came from his family and his many friends. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a proud grandfather. He rarely missed an opportunity to watch his children play sports, and later took the same pride and excitement in cheering on his grandchildren. Time spent together, whether at family parties, sporting events, or quiet moments at home, meant everything to him. Andrew also valued friendship deeply and was proud to have maintained lifelong bonds, remaining close for more than seventy-five years with childhood friends who stayed by his side throughout his life. His love for his family and friends was steady, generous, and unwavering, and it defined the life he lived.

Andrew was predeceased by his sister, Marie Fresco, who passed away in 2024.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Carole Fresco; his three children, Michelle Fresco and her husband Marty Faulborn, Angela Fresco Callahan and her husband Gary Callahan, and Andrew Fresco III and his wife Crystal Fresco; his seven cherished grandchildren, Joseph, Nicholas, Marty Jr., Alexa, Matthew, Audrey, and Evelyn; and several loving nieces and nephews.
