Richard F. Cochran passed away at his home in Warren, New Jersey, on January 14, 2026.

Born in Plainfield, New Jersey, Richard spent his early years there before moving to Warren, where he resided for the remainder of his life. He built a strong work ethic early on and took great pride in his career as a machinist. Richard spent ten years working for New Jersey Transit before continuing his profession with Norfolk Southern Railroad, based out of Jersey City, New Jersey, where he worked until his retirement.

Outside of work, Richard truly enjoyed life’s pleasures. He loved riding his motorcycle, cooking, and most of all, spending time with friends. Known for his quick wit and infectious sense of humor, he was affectionately nicknamed “Laughing Rich,” a reflection of the joy he brought to those around him. Richard also enjoyed traveling, particularly vacations to Florida and relaxing cruises, which provided him with many fond memories.
