Florence Barbara Kleinberg

Florence Barbara Kleinberg, 89, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at Center for Hope Hospice in Scotch Plains, New Jersey.

Florence was born on September 9, 1936, in Brooklyn, New York, to the late Samuel and Sara Bodin. She was raised in Brooklyn and later lived in Tappan, New York before settling in Edison, New Jersey, where she lovingly raised her family. In recent years, she resided in Somerset. She was an original owner at Canal Walk, Somerset, NJ

Florence found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved playing Mahjong with friends, soaking up the sunshine in her backyard, and reading fiction novels. She also enjoyed daily walks around her development for exercise or on her treadmill.

Most of all, she will be remembered for her lifelong love of singing. Music was always part of her life, and she proudly sang with the chorus at her senior center, bringing happiness to those around her.

Florence was predeceased by her beloved husband, Abraham Kleinberg.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Melissa Ruck and her husband Bruce; her son, Jeff Rosen and his wife Bernadette; her daughter, Rhonda Perlman and son-in-law Craig; her son, Scott Kleinberg and daughter-in-law Alisa. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Jessica, Tyler, Sydney, Jayson, Samantha, Ross, Leah, and Hope; her great-grandchildren, Hattie and Matilda; and her dear siblings, Judy Evans and Ivan Bodin.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at Beth Israel Memorial Park  Mausoleum, 1098 Woodbridge Center Drive, Woodbridge, New Jersey, beginning at 1:30 PM. Family and friends are kindly asked to gather at the main office no later than 1:15 PM.

Shiva will be observed at the Ruck family home on Tuesday, February 17, from 4:00 PM to 8:30 PM, and again on Wednesday, February 18, from 3:00 PM to 8:30 PM.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Higgins Home For Funerals, 752 Mountain Boulevard, Watchung, New Jersey.

Florence will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her warm smile, and the music she carried in her heart throughout her life.
