Obituary
Josephine Tibaldi passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at Bridgeway Care Center in Bridgewater, New Jersey. A woman whose life was defined by faith, devotion to family, and the warmth she shared with others, Josephine lived with gentleness, generosity, and quiet strength.
Born and raised in Plainfield, New Jersey, Josephine remained deeply connected to the community and traditions that shaped her. She was a long-time Plainfield resident until moving to Bridgewater in 1977. As a child, she attended St. Bernard’s Roman Catholic Church in Plainfield, New Jersey, where her faith first took root and would remain a guiding presence throughout her life. After moving to Bridgewater, she became a devoted parishioner of St. Ann Roman Catholic Church in Raritan. Her faith was central to her daily life. She prayed the rosary every day and held a special devotion to Padre Pio.
It was also at St. Bernard’s that the first chapter of her love story quietly began. A young man, Thomas Tibaldi, often noticed her at church, though they had not yet formally met. They were later introduced at a wedding they both attended, and that meeting grew into a devoted marriage. Together, they built a loving family and shared a lifetime grounded in faith and commitment. Josephine was predeceased by her beloved husband, Thomas Tibaldi, earlier this year on January 6, 2026.
After high school, Josephine entered the workforce, first working at Markay Bags. She later devoted herself to raising her daughters, a role she cherished most. When her girls were older and in school, she returned to work, holding positions at Mattel Toys in South Plainfield, General Diaper Service in Plainfield and Niko’s Café in Warren. Wherever she worked, she was known for her kindness, reliability, and welcoming spirit.
Josephine found joy in the simple and meaningful moments of everyday life. She loved caring for her home and took pride in keeping it warm and orderly. While cleaning, she could often be heard singing opera, filling the house with music. She had a true gift for homemaking, creating an environment where family and friends always felt comfortable and cared for.
She also had a green thumb and especially loved tending to her indoor plants, most notably her orchids and African violets. Her home reflected her nurturing nature, always alive with care and attention.
Food was another expression of her love. No one ever left her house hungry. Sundays were especially cherished, centered around traditional family meals with pasta, sausage, and manicotti, shared at a long table filled with conversation and togetherness. Holidays were treasured occasions marked by cooking, baking, and gathering with those she loved most.
Josephine also had a deep affection for animals, particularly her beloved Shih Tzu, Lea, who brought her great companionship and comfort.
She is survived by her daughters, Patricia and Tommarie; her son in law, Thomas; and her cousin, Dorothy Perrucci.
Josephine Tibaldi will be remembered as a woman of faith, warmth, and devotion. Her life was measured not in grand gestures, but in daily acts of love, caring for her family, opening her home, sharing meals, and offering prayer. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness and nurturing that will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.

A PRAYER FOR OUR MOTHER
Dear Heavenly Father,
Please guide our Mother home to you. Our hearts are broken to let go, but your suffering will no longer be, as you will have forever peace.
We said a prayer for you today to let your faith guide you, let your love comfort you, let your suffering grace you, let your tears be tears of joy, let your Heavenly family surround you, as you are once again reunited with your loving husband.
We love you Mom and Dad. You will always be the love that fills our hearts, the teachings that will continue to guide us, the memories that will forever comfort us and the parents that we will once again embrace and never have to let go.
