Adelene J. Pelosi passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 15, at JFK Medical Center in Edison.

Born in Elizabeth, Adelene resided there until 1972. She later moved to Iselin and, in 1977, settled in Edison, where she remained for the rest of her life.

In her early years, Adelene was employed by Esso, the former Standard Oil Company. She later worked in Accounts Receivable at JFK Hospital in Edison for twelve dedicated years, where she was known for her reliability and strong work ethic.

Adelene enjoyed many summers as a member of the Gran Centurions Swim Club, where she formed longtime friendships and happy memories. Her faith was an important part of her life. She was a member of the choir at St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church and later sang in the choir at St. Cecilia’s R.C. Church, finding comfort and community through her parish.

She shared a love of travel with her husband, Vince, visiting Egypt, Costa Rica, and Italy, creating memories that she treasured. Adelene also enjoyed quiet afternoons reading, listening to the radio, and going out to dinner with family and friends. 

She was predeceased by her husband, Vincent N. Pelosi, Sr.; her parents, Peter and Elizabeth Scutro; and her sister, Mary E. Belmont.

She is survived by her children, Vincent(Carol) N. Pelosi, Jr., Joyce Ann Pelosi, and Peter Pelosi; her grandchildren, Vincent(AnnMarie) N. Pelosi, III, Victoria(James) DeChristopher, and Nicholas, Alexander, and Maximillian Pelosi; her great-grandchildren, Cameron and Logan Pelosi, and Dominic DeChristopher; as well as her nieces and nephew, great-nieces and great-nephews, and cousins.

She will be remembered for her quiet strength, spirited personality, devotion to family, and the simple pleasures that brought her happiness. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 20, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, and on Saturday, February 21, 2026, from 9:00-9:30 am, at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Boulevard, Watchung, New Jersey 07069.  A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at 10:00 AM at St. Mary’s Stony Hill Church, 225 Mountain Boulevard, Watchung, New Jersey 08836.  Interment will follow at Rosedale Cemetery in Linden, New Jersey.
