FRED DELGYER, passed away in the early morning hours of Friday, March 20, 2026. Fred was born in Plainfield, NJ, on May 22, 1950, to Marie and Frederick DelGyer, the second of four children and their first son. 

Fred grew up in North Plainfield, attending township public schools. He was an electrician by trade and an all-around handyman. He worked at several jobs, his last being as a maintenance man at the Hilton Hotel in Edison. Fred loved all things 'horror': videos, decor, and parties. In the 1970s, Fred was locally famous for his Halloween costume parties, held in the basement of the family home. Fred has lived in Metuchen since 2018 and met up regularly with his siblings. 

Fred was predeceased by his parents, Frederick and Marie (nee Moore) DelGyer, and brother-in-law Ken Roe.  He is survived by his sister, Leslie DelGyer Roe of North Plainfield, and brothers Carl DelGyer of Dunellen and Theodore DelGyer of Macungie, PA. 

Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 29, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Higgins Home For Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, NJ 07069. Cremation will be private. Interment of cremated remains will be held on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at 1:00 pm at Hillside Cemetery, 1401 Woodland Ave, Scotch Plains, NJ 07076.
