Cort Brian Ventriglia, 60, passed away at his home on Tuesday, March 31, 2026.

Born on August 6, 1965, in Somerville, New Jersey, Cort was the beloved son of Peter and Mabel Ventriglia. He was raised in Plainfield and had been a longtime resident of North Plainfield for the past 25 years.

Cort graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Edison, New Jersey, where he played football and formed many lasting friendships. He went on to further his education at Roger Williams University in Rhode Island, earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering.

Following his graduation, Cort proudly joined the family business, Plainfield Welders & Fabricators, which was founded by his father in 1960. Through years of hard work, dedication, and leadership, he rose to the position of Vice President. He worked closely alongside his brother, Gery, and took great pride in continuing the legacy of the business. Cort genuinely enjoyed his work and was highly skilled in his craft, earning the respect of those who knew him both professionally and personally.

Raised in the Catholic faith, Cort received his sacraments at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Plainfield.

Cort will be remembered for his strong will, spontaneous nature, and his great sense of humor, which brought joy to those around him. Above all, he cherished the time he spent with his son, Erik. Whether fishing, enjoying days at the beach in Long Beach Island, or simply being together, those moments meant the most to him. He also loved the holidays spent with family and fondly remembered a cross-country road trip he once took with a close friend, visiting family and friends along the way. Coming from a family that always had dogs, Cort had a lifelong love for animals. In recent years, his beloved Goldendoodle, Parker, was a constant companion and one of his closest friends.

He is survived by his loving son, Erik Ventriglia; his siblings, Peter Ventriglia, Karen Ventriglia, Gery Ventriglia, and June Droussiotis; as well as two nieces and three nephews.

Visitation will be held on Monday, April 6, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Cremation services will be private.
