Leo Kutsup Obituary: July 31, 1933 - April 2, 2026
Leo Kutsup, beloved father, husband, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 2, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, kindness, and a life guided by his devout faith in God and the family’s Ukrainian traditions. A role model, mentor, supporter, and teacher, Leo lived a life defined by strong values and unconditional love for his family and friends. His love for travel, adventure, and finding simple beauty in daily life will live on through those who loved him.
Leo joins his beloved and devoted wife, of 36 years, Elaine, who passed before him. He was the last surviving child of Michael Kutsup and Anna (Szalay) Kutsup, joining his family in heaven after the passing of his brothers Joseph, John, and Peter; and sisters Mary Kressel, Sophie Kutsup, Helen Medlin, Sophie Wiercerzak, Mildred Wildes, Anna Kutsup and Catherine Komar. In addition to their respective spouses and a cherished extended family of brothers- and sisters-in-law and their families, he is also reunited with his special great-nephews, Andrew Zagorski and Keith Kellerman, who left this earth far too soon.
Leo is survived by his cherished daughter, Debra, and her husband, Paul, and their children, Erika, Scott, and Aaron - his beloved role as “Pop Pop” being among his greatest joys. He is also survived by his dear friend and long-time companion, Sharon Lindstedt. Leo found immense happiness in the close and loving relationships he shared with his nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Memorial services will be held to celebrate Leo’s life. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society. May his memory be a blessing.
