Vito "Vic" de'Marsi Obituary

Vito Alfredo Pasquale Ermando de’Marsi

December 18, 1939 - April 2, 2026

Vito (Vic) Alfredo Pasquale Ermando de’Marsi, age 86, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, April 2, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Vito was born in Rome, Italy, in 1939 to Ermando and Pearl de’Marsi, and came to the United States in 1946, where he grew up in Warren, New Jersey.

He was drafted into the United States Army and served as a Sergeant from 1959 to 1965. During his service, he worked as a radio operator and repairman in the armored division of the U.S. Cavalry and was stationed in Berlin.

Vito began his career in banking as a teller and became well known in the Warren community as a trusted loan officer, helping many first-time home and car buyers at First National Bank of Central Jersey. Over the years, he advanced to the role of commercial loan officer and senior vice president, working at several institutions including National Westminster, First Community, United Trust, and concluding his career at PNC in 2004.

He had a deep passion for philanthropy and community service. Vito was an active member of numerous organizations, including the Warren and North Plainfield Lions Club, American Legion, Watchung-Warren Rotary, Knights of Columbus, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the Italian-American Club. A devoted Catholic, he served as a parish council member, financial treasurer, and usher at Our Lady of the Mount. He generously shared his financial expertise by serving as treasurer for many of the organizations he supported.

His commitment to service extended further through his involvement with the Central Jersey Chamber of Commerce, North Plainfield Business Association, American Cancer Society, Somerset Heart Association, Watchung Hills Council of the Boy Scouts of America, and as one of the founders of the honorary PBA of Warren Township.

Vito’s contributions were recognized with numerous honors. In 1973, he received the Man of the Year Award for outstanding service to the Mountain Jewish Community Center. He was named a Paul Harris Fellow by Rotary International and received the Melvin Jones Fellowship from the Lions Club of North Plainfield for his exceptional humanitarian service.

He had a lifelong love of cars, card games, fireworks, and golden oldies music. He enjoyed a cold Stella while playing gin rummy with friends, and in Warren, he could often be found washing his car or helping his mother in the garden. When he wasn’t in Warren, his happiest moments were spent at the Jersey Shore with his family; burying his children in the sand and jumping waves together.

Vito is survived by his devoted wife of 49 years, Linda of Hazlet, New Jersey; his sons, Michael de’Marsi and his wife, Terilyn, of Raleigh, North Carolina, and David de’Marsi of Chestertown, Maryland; his daughter, Nancy de’Marsi of Hazlet, New Jersey; and his four grandchildren, Andrew and Ethan de’Marsi of Raleigh, North Carolina, and Jack and Brooke Andrews of Hazlet, New Jersey, and his cousin, Elaine Yanuzzi of Bedminster, New Jersey

He was predeceased by his parents, Ermando and Pearl de’Marsi, uncle and aunt, Emile and Alice Yanuzzi and cousin, Carol Yanuzzi.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in Vito’s memory be made to CHOP (Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Department.
